KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a series of bridge inspections scheduled for next week on Interstate 76, impacting both Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties. These inspections are part of PennDOT’s ongoing commitment to ensure the structural integrity and safety of the region’s bridges, which are evaluated at least biennially.
On Monday, September 23, a right lane closure will occur on eastbound I-76 between the I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) and South Street interchanges in Philadelphia from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM. The following day, Tuesday, September 24, will see a right lane closure from the Walnut Street on-ramp to eastbound I-76 in Philadelphia from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Wednesday, September 25, will involve moving alternating lane closures on eastbound I-76 between the King of Prussia and Route 320/Gulph Mills interchanges in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Additionally, the same day will feature left lane closures between the Route 320/Gulph Mills and I-476 interchanges in Upper Merion and Lower Merion townships, and West Conshohocken Borough, also from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Further closures are set for Thursday, September 26, with a right lane closure on westbound I-76 between the Gladwyne and Route 23/Conshohocken interchanges in Lower Merion Township and West Conshohocken Borough from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Later that day, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a right lane closure will take place on westbound I-76 between the Route 320/Gulph Mills and King of Prussia interchanges in Upper Merion Township.
Motorists are advised to anticipate slowdowns and plan for extra travel time when navigating these areas. Please note that all scheduled activities are weather-dependent, and adjustments may be necessary.
