CHESTER, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is set to initiate pavement marking installations on Route 291 (2nd Street) in the City of Chester, Delaware County. This development forms a critical component of a $7.5 million initiative aimed at implementing safety enhancements to mitigate high-speed crashes throughout the Philadelphia region’s five counties.
From September 23 to September 30, motorists should anticipate periodic lane closures on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM at the intersection of Route 291 and Reaney Street. Drivers are advised to allocate additional travel time due to expected delays and potential traffic congestion. As with all scheduled roadwork, these activities are contingent upon weather conditions.
Kuharchik Construction, Inc., based in Exeter, Pennsylvania, serves as the general contractor for this project, which is fully funded by federal resources.
