Traffic, flagging

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will commence night-time bridge repairs on the U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) as part of a major $100.6 million renovation project. The efforts will focus on the Wayne Junction Viaduct, spanning SEPTA tracks and the Nicetown neighborhood.

Scheduled from Monday, September 9, through Thursday, September 12, the operation will feature periodic single and double lane closures. On the southbound section between Henry Avenue and I-76, closures will occur from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Northbound lanes between I-76 and Henry Avenue will face similar restrictions from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Motorists should anticipate significant delays and are advised to allocate extra travel time. All work is weather-dependent.
