High Street Construction: Expect Delays on Chester County Roads

Traffic Advisory

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advancing its efforts to enhance safety along the Business U.S. 322 (High Street) corridor in West Chester Borough and West Goshen Township. From Monday, September 9, to Friday, September 13, periodic lane closures will affect intersections at Nields Street, Lacey Street, and Magnolia Street between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Motorists should prepare for potential delays and allow extra travel time. This construction is part of a comprehensive project funded entirely by federal resources, totaling $2,619,998. The initiative includes the installation of new traffic signals, retroreflective backplates, LED luminaries, and pedestrian countdown timers. Additional improvements feature curb extensions, high-visibility crosswalks, drainage upgrades, and full-depth pavement restoration, leading to a complete resurfacing of the roadway.

PennDOT has contracted Marino Corporation of Skippack, Pennsylvania, to oversee the project, which is expected to be completed by winter 2026. Weather conditions may affect the schedule, and motorists are advised to stay updated on any changes.
