U.S. 422 Overhaul: Major Traffic Delays Ahead

Road construction

LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the continuation of construction on U.S. 422 as part of an $83.6 million project. This initiative will enhance a 2.1-mile stretch between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.

From September 3 to September 6, motorists will experience lane closures. Westbound lanes will face intermittent closures between Evergreen Road and Armand Hammer Boulevard from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Eastbound lanes will close between Keim Street and Evergreen Road from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The project aims to improve road safety by adjusting horizontal curve radii and shoulder widths, and increasing vertical clearance. It also includes the replacement of the culvert at Sprogels Run and the reconstruction of bridges over Porter Road and Sanatoga Creek. Drivers should anticipate delays and are advised to plan accordingly. All activities are subject to weather conditions.
