DELAWARE and CHESTER COUNTIES, PA — The Gallery at Delaware County Community College invites submissions for its 215/610 CONTEMPORARY Juried Exhibition. This annual event showcases the work of emerging artists in the Philadelphia region.
Artists can submit up to three pieces until September 5, 2024, at 5 p.m. ET. A $15 non-refundable fee is required per submission. The exhibition is open to emerging artists from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. “Emerging artists” are those who have developed a style and produce professional work but lack gallery representation.
The exhibition will be held from November 4 through December 13, 2024, at the College Art Gallery, 901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063. Juror Byron Wolfe, a renowned photographer and educator, will select the works. Wolfe’s art is featured in over thirty permanent collections worldwide, including The George Eastman Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He is also a professor and the Art Department chair at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture.
Monetary awards include Juror’s Choice ($400), First Place ($300), Second Place ($200), and Third Place ($100). The exhibition aims to highlight local emerging contemporary artists, foster critical discourse through idea exchanges, and push the boundaries of traditional art practices.
