BERWYN, PA — Playfly Sports has announced a significant leadership change. Craig Sloan, currently the President of Playfly, will become the Chief Executive Officer starting September 1, 2024. Mike Schreiber, the founder and current CEO, will transition to the role of Executive Chairman.
Schreiber expressed his confidence in Sloan’s leadership. “Since our founding almost four years ago, Playfly has achieved explosive growth, including internationally, and has proudly been at the forefront of innovation and harnessing fandom across pro, college and high school sports,” Schreiber said. “I appreciate Craig’s incredible partnership and leadership during this growth, and the time was right – especially given the strength of our executive team – for a transition to help Playfly unlock its limitless potential and continue leading the industry with our proprietary data-driven approach.”
In his new role as Executive Chairman, Schreiber will continue to influence key company initiatives and focus on growth opportunities, including acquisitions. He will retain his seat on the Playfly Board of Directors, ensuring his ongoing involvement in the company’s strategic direction.
Sloan praised Schreiber’s vision and contributions to Playfly’s success. “Mike is a visionary who is fundamentally responsible for Playfly’s incredible success and entrepreneurial spirit since our founding,” Sloan said. “He built the organization from the ground up, driving organic growth and adding key strategic acquisitions to truly make Playfly an organization with a depth and breadth of expertise, capabilities and relationships that are unmatched across the world of sports. I look forward to continuing to work alongside Mike as we take Playfly to the next level.”
This leadership transition marks a new chapter for Playfly Sports as it continues to expand its influence in the sports industry. Sloan’s promotion to CEO and Schreiber’s new role as Executive Chairman are strategic moves designed to propel the company further in its mission to innovate and lead in sports marketing and media.
