MOUNT JOY TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a rescheduling of the traffic signal activation at the Route 743 intersection with the Conewago Recreation Trail in Mount Joy Township, Lancaster County. The signal, currently in flash mode, was expected to be fully operational this Thursday, July 18. However, full activation will now occur next week, possibly on Tuesday, July 23.

The delay is due to the contractor awaiting a part for the signal’s radar detection system, which is expected to arrive next Monday. This project, managed by Kinsley Construction of York, PA, aims to improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists crossing the road. It includes traffic signal installation, trail crossing enhancements, and other related construction.

The $406,600 project is projected to be completed by September 23, 2024.
