LANCASTER, PA — The annual Stadium Showcase at Clipper Magazine Stadium drew a record-breaking crowd on the evening of June 27. With 8,636 fans in attendance, the event set a new benchmark for the Lancaster Stormers and the Atlantic League.
This turnout surpassed the previous Atlantic League record held by Sugar Land, which attracted 8,597 attendees on September 7, 2012. “The Stormers Stadium Showcase event has become one of the premier dates on the Atlantic League season calendar,” said league president Rick White. He highlighted the significant economic impact on Downtown Lancaster, where thousands of fans patronized local businesses.
Stormers president and general manager Mike Reynolds emphasized their ongoing efforts to attract new and returning fans. “Although the Stormers are celebrating 20 years, there are still Lancaster County and Central PA residents who have not been to see a Stormers game,” Reynolds noted.
The event aims to showcase the excitement and fun of a Stormers game, combining professional baseball with various entertainment options. Despite the team’s loss to Staten Island that night, the atmosphere was electric.
Owner Bob Zuckerman expressed gratitude for the community’s support, while third baseman Trace Loehr and manager Ross Peeples praised the enthusiastic crowd. “The players love the big crowds and definitely feed off the fans,” Peeples said.
The Stormers will return to Clipper Magazine Stadium on July 9 for a six-game homestand as they strive for their third straight Atlantic League Championship.
