Upper Darby Caregiver Arrested for Abuse in Chester County

PARKESBURG, PA — The Parkesburg Borough Police Department has announced the arrest of Joseph Uche Chukwu, a 44-year-old resident of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Mr. Chukwu has been charged with abuse of a care-dependent person and related offenses.

According to the criminal complaint, the initial report concerning the possible abuse was received by the police department on October 17, 2023. Subsequent investigations allegedly confirmed that Mr. Chukwu, while employed as a caregiver, physically abused the person under his care.

The incident took place in the 400 block of Sixth Avenue in Parkesburg, PA 19365. The arrest was made on November 9, 2023.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place at the Parkesburg District Court. However, the exact date and time of the hearing are yet to be announced.
