Philadelphia Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Suspect in Auto Theft Case

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Central Detective Division of the Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a theft from an automobile case. The incident took place on November 3, 2023, at approximately 5:45 pm on the 100 block of North 9th Street.

According to the police, an unknown male was captured on surveillance entering the victim’s parked vehicle and stealing a firearm. In an effort to protect the community and apprehend the suspect, the police have released a video clip of the incident and are seeking help from the public in identifying the individual involved.

The suspect is described as a male of unknown race. He was seen wearing a dark hat, a tan fur-like coat, a dark sweatshirt with a distinctive graphic on the front, dark pants, and two-tone sneakers. He was also carrying a dark duffel bag at the time of the incident.

The police department has advised the public not to approach the suspect if spotted but to contact 911 immediately. They are encouraging those who have any information about this crime or the suspect to get in touch with the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093/3094. Tips can also be submitted via telephone by dialing 215.686.TIPS (8477) or by texting a tip to the same number. All tips will be kept confidential.

Detective Goulbourne is the assigned investigator for this case, which has been identified under ID# DC-23-06-049388. The Philadelphia Police Department is hopeful that with the community’s help, the suspect will be quickly identified and brought to justice.
