Construction Activities Continue on Ridge Pike in Plymouth Township

Traffic Restrictions

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that construction activities continue next week on Ridge Pike in Plymouth Township, under a local Montgomery County project to improve congestion, safety, bridge infrastructure, pedestrian facilities, and stormwater management along the highly traveled corridor.

On Monday, November 13, through Friday, December 8, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, single or double lane closures with flagging are planned in both directions on Ridge Pike between Allan Wood Road and Chemical Road for utility and road work.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The project involves widening Ridge Pike, adding left turn lanes, improving pedestrian mobility, modernizing traffic signals, and rehabilitating the Ridge Pike bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad. Additionally, two state-owned bridges, Ridge Pike over Plymouth Creek and Ridge Pike over Interstate 476, will undergo rehabilitation with various repairs and improvements.

J. D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen Borough, Chester County is the contractor for this $39.2 million project to improve travel and safety along Ridge Pike between Belvoir Road and Chemical Road. Construction is financed with county, state, and federal funds.
