West Chester Man Arrested for Attempted Use of Counterfeit Money at Lukoil Gas Station

WEST CHESTER, PA — A local man was apprehended by West Chester Police after attempting to use counterfeit money at a local Lukoil gas station. The arrest took place on November 8, 2023.

The criminal complaint alleges that around 7:30 PM that evening, officers were dispatched to the Lukoil gas station located at 443 Hannum Ave, West Chester, PA. The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Lontay Anderson, was reportedly trying to make a purchase using counterfeit currency.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Anderson. Following an investigation on the scene, he was taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including unauthorized acts in writing, theft by deception under false impression, and disorderly conduct.

After his arrest, Anderson was transported to Chester County Prison for arraignment. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled at District Court 15-1-01, though the exact date remains pending.
