PHILADELPHIA, PA — In a recent press release, the Philadelphia Police Department has asked for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating four suspects involved in two separate incidents of commercial robbery and abduction that occurred on October 9, 2023.
The first incident, a commercial robbery, took place at 12:26 am at Bally’s Pizza located at 5200 N. Mascher Street. An employee was loading his pickup truck when a white SUV, possibly a GMC Acadia with a partial PA license plate JFK-44, stopped in front of him. The vehicle reportedly contained four unknown individuals, two of whom were armed with firearms. Another suspect wielded a large pipe, threatening the employee and forcing him back into the restaurant.
Once inside, the suspects confronted a second employee who was closing the shop. They showed the employee at least one firearm and demanded money from the cash registers. Complying with their demands, the suspects managed to take $3000 from the drawer. The suspects also searched both employees for additional cash but found none. The suspects then fled the scene in their vehicle, last seen heading south on N. Mascher Street.
The second incident, an abduction, occurred at around 5:10 am. The victim, a 22-year-old male, was waiting for a bus at Front St and Wyoming Ave. Two vehicles pulled up across the street, and two unknown males exited a white SUV. Armed with handguns, they ordered the victim into the SUV, where another male was waiting in the driver seat.
The suspects drove the victim around, demanding his belongings and password/PIN information. They then drove to a laundromat located at Front St and Wyoming Ave, where they withdrew money from the victim’s account. They revisited the laundromat twice more, withdrawing more money each time. The suspects finally dropped the victim off near the laundromat before leaving the area. An undetermined amount of money was taken, along with the victim’s phone, Apple Watch, AirPods, and other belongings.
The police have provided descriptions of the four suspects, all of whom are males. Suspects one and two were described as Hispanic males with light complexions. One wore a “Tokyo” themed black hoodie, black pants, and gray sneakers, while the other wore a North Face jacket with a black hood, a black knit cap, gray pants with a black stripe, and black sneakers.
Suspect three was described as either Hispanic or Black with a medium complexion, wearing a black New Balance jacket, black pants, white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, and armed with a black semi-automatic handgun. The fourth suspect, a Hispanic male with a light complexion, was seen wearing a light gray zip-up jacket and black pants.
The vehicles involved in the incidents include a white 2007-2015 3rd generation Mercedes Benz C Class four-door sedan with a black glass roof and a white 2008 GMC Acadia SUV, believed to bear the PA license plate JFK-4449, which is currently reported as stolen.
