Philadelphia Police Seek Public’s Help in Hunting Park Homicide Investigation

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit is actively seeking the public’s assistance to identify several suspects involved in a recent homicide case in Hunting Park. The department has released a video compilation of the suspects, who are believed to be connected to the shooting death of a 35-year-old Black male on the 1000 block of West Lycoming Street on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Prior to the fatal shooting, the suspects were reportedly seen loitering around Hunting Park. In the days leading up to the murder, the group is suspected of having committed at least two armed robberies in the same vicinity, one of which involved carjacking.

The city is offering a reward of $20,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this homicide case. This incentive underscores the city’s commitment to bringing justice for every homicide victim and their families.

Authorities urge anyone who recognizes the individuals in the video or has any related information to contact the police immediately. However, they caution the public not to approach these suspects due to the potential danger they pose.

People can submit tips by dialing 215.686.TIPS (8477) or texting the same number. All tips will remain confidential and will be reviewed by the Homicide Unit. For direct contact, individuals can reach out to Det. Pearson, badge #751, at 215-686-3334 or 3335. The case ID is DC-23-25-051064.
