PHILADELPHIA, PA — Construction is expected to continue next week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) under a $96.6 million Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) project to rehabilitate the Wayne Junction Viaduct over the SEPTA tracks and the Nicetown neighborhood in Philadelphia.
On Monday, November 6, through Thursday, November 9, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, right shoulder closures are planned in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the Cayuga Street on-ramp and Broad Street for ITS work; and
Additionally, on Monday, November 6, through Friday, November 10, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, right lane closures are planned on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Interstate 76 and Broad Street (Route 611) for guiderail installation.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
