Philadelphia Woman Charged with Fraud in Kennett Square

Arrested

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A Philadelphia woman has been charged with multiple counts of fraud and theft following an investigation by the Kennett Square Police Department.

The investigation began on March 8, 2023, when officers responded to a report of fraud from a resident in the 300 block of Marshall Street in Kennett Square Borough. The victim reported that his cell phone had been stolen about a month earlier while he was in Philadelphia. Upon obtaining a new phone, the victim discovered that someone had transferred money from his bank account to another account on three separate occasions, totaling $720. The victim suspected that the perpetrators were using the CashApp on his stolen phone to make the transfers.

After conducting an in-depth investigation and issuing two search warrants, Kennett Square Police identified the recipient of the transferred funds as Angela Rosado, a 34-year-old resident of Philadelphia. A criminal complaint was filed against Rosado at District Court 15-3-04 on October 13, 2023.

Rosado has been charged with one count each of Access Device Fraud, Dealing in Proceeds of Unlawful Activities, Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition, and Receiving Stolen Property. She was arrested on October 13, 2023, under the police report ID# KS-23-002702.

This case serves as a reminder of the importance of securing personal devices and monitoring bank accounts for any unusual activity. The Kennett Square Police Department is encouraging residents to report suspicious activity promptly to help prevent such fraudulent activities and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest is not a declaration of guilt. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
