WAYNE, PA — Are you looking to combine your love of running with a great cause? On September 10, 2023, Drishti Foundation is holding a 5K or 1K run/walk at Wilson Farm Park in Wayne, Pennsylvania, to support blind and visually impaired children in collaboration with Royer-Greaves School for Blind, Paoli, and the American Council of the Blind (ACB). Not only will this event help to raise funds for important initiatives, but it’s also an opportunity to connect with advocates in your community who share the same values as you.

Started by high and middle schoolers, Drishti Foundation is an organization that supports the blind and visually impaired in various ways and instills the value of service in children and adults alike. Their motto is driven by Helen Keller’s words, “Because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” Since its inception, Drishti Foundation has organized fundraisers for causes such as cataract surgeries for the underprivileged, scholarships for the blind, and medical care for visually impaired children.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Drishti Foundation raised funds and sent medical equipment to impacted communities, including schools for the handicapped. They have worked with several organizations, such as the Chester County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Royer- Greaves School for the Blind, Vision Corps, American Council for the Blind, Children’s Eye Foundation, Overbrook School for the Blind, and the Society for the Blind. By collaborating with these organizations, Drishti Foundation has been able to achieve great success in supporting the visually impaired community.
