WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Planning Commission will host a Chester County Town Tours event at the Grove United Methodist Church in West Whiteland Township on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Delve into the captivating history of Grove United Methodist Church, affectionately known as “the country church”, as it celebrates 250 years of worship at Grove and Boot Roads! Its origins trace back to George Hoffman, the farmer who graciously hosted the inaugural congregational gathering in his humble residence, with the esteemed Methodist Bishop Francis Asbury delivering an inspiring sermon. Throughout the years, Grove has witnessed the construction of three church buildings, a school, two parsonage/office buildings, and the establishment of a cemetery on its sacred grounds. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of this venerable institution’s fascinating journey.

You can find parking on-site at 490 W. Boot Rd., West Chester. The first tour starts at 5:30, and the final tour begins at 7:00.
