Bridge Educational Foundation Presents Scholarship Money to Chester County Schools

CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — On Thursday, May 4, 2023, Natalie Nutt, Executive Director of Bridge Educational Foundation, in partnership with donors Tracy McCann (Waste Management), Chad Byers (Symmetrical, Hillside and Bridge Board Member) and Guy Pyne (Bridge Scholarship Donor), presented scholarship funds provided through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program to Chester County school representatives. The check was presented during a special ceremony held at Montgomery School in Chester Springs, PA. The scholarships are part of the foundation’s commitment to providing educational opportunities to students in need across Pennsylvania.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on financial need and will assist families with tuition costs and other educational expenses, ensuring that they have access to a high-quality education.

EITC is a Pennsylvania tax credit program that allows eligible businesses and individuals to receive up to a 90% tax credit by redirecting PA state tax dollars to PreK – 12th-grade Scholarship Organizations like Montgomery School, Delaware Valley Friends School, Holy Family School, St. Matthews School, and West-Mont Christian Academy. EITC funds support families with financial need through financial aid and scholarship resources. All money received through EITC is used to fund student scholarships.

Montgomery School is an independent PreK – 8th-grade independent private school that provides a challenging and supportive educational environment for students. The school’s mission is to inspire each student to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. “We are grateful to the Bridge Educational Foundation for their support of our students,” said Tom McManus, Head of School at Montgomery School. “Their commitment to education makes a real difference in the lives of our students and in our community.”

The Bridge Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to students attending Pennsylvania’s schools through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $38 million in scholarships to over 37,000 students in Pennsylvania.
