WEST CHESTER, PA — Community Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM), a community-based health organization providing free high-quality healthcare to uninsured working people in the Chester County region, launched a new medical “microsite” in West Grove, PA. The microsite, located at the Penn Medicine Southern Chester County outpatient facility, will provide hyper-local access to primary and specialty medical care, vaccines for COVID-19, flu and other communicable diseases, medication refills, telehealth virtual care and eligibility screening for all CVIM programs and services.
CVIM, founded in 1998, serves over 4,000 individuals and families among the working uninsured in the region. The organization relies on 350 clinical and support volunteers who donate their time and professional services. Almost 30% of CVIM’s 4,250 patients live in southern Chester County. The new microsite location will offer care to about 1,200 people closer to home, saving them a25 to 30-mile drive to CVIM’s main center in West Chester.

This microsite was developed to respond to the community’s evolving needs, addressing barriers to care such as transportation, technology, language and literacy. All of these issues prevent uninsured patients from attending healthcare appointments. Additionally, the microsite offers a medical assistant and a bilingual certified nurse onsite to facilitate and conduct telehealth and in-person visits.
CVIM’s new medical microsite is located at 455 Woodview Road in West Grove, in space donated by Penn Medicine’s Chester County Hospital, and will be open one day per week to start.
