KENNETT SQUARE, PA — An arrest warrant has been issued for Lanasia Hudgins of Philadelphia, in connection with a case of alleged check fraud that victimized a local business in Kennett Square. The District Court 15-3-04 issued the warrant on April 9, 2024, following an investigation into fraudulent activities reported by the affected company.

The incident traces back to October 24, 2023, when police were alerted to fraudulent checks passed against a business located in the 300 block of E. South Street. The company had initially issued a check for $3,190.00 on June 22, 2023, to an electrical service provider, which later claimed never to have received the payment. Further investigation revealed that the cleared check was made out to Lanasia Hudgins, leading officers to execute multiple search warrants. These efforts resulted in the acquisition of a signature card and deposit images linked to Hudgins’ account.

Hudgins faces charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, and forgery. The case is currently pending a preliminary hearing at District Court 15-3-04, under Docket No.: MJ-15304-CR-0000090-2024, with Reference ID: KS-23-010282.

It is crucial to remember that the issuance of an arrest warrant and the filing of charges are initial steps in the legal process. As such, Lanasia Hudgins, like any individual accused of a crime, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
