Road Construction on U.S. 202 to Cause Delays in Concord Township

Traffic Restrictions

CONCORD TWP, PA — Commuters traversing through Concord Township, Delaware County, should brace for potential traffic snarls as Pulte Homes resumes its road construction activities on U.S. 202 (Wilmington West Chester Pike). The project, slated to run from Monday, April 29, to Monday, June 24, will see periodic lane closures that promise to impact weekday and possibly weekend traffic flow significantly.

The construction work, necessary for the area’s development, will narrow the northbound lanes between Cornerstone Drive and Springhill Drive from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on weekdays. In an effort to expedite completion, the contractor may also extend work into Saturdays or Sundays during the same hours, if deemed necessary.

Motorists planning to use this stretch of U.S. 202 are urged to allot additional travel time to their journeys. The expected lane closures are anticipated to lead to considerable backups and delays, affecting both local and passing traffic. Given the fluid nature of construction work, these disruptions are contingent on favorable weather conditions, with adverse weather likely to alter the planned schedule.

The project, approved under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit, aims to enhance infrastructure within the area, supporting both current and future developmental needs.

Travelers are encouraged to stay informed on the construction progress and consider alternative routes where possible to mitigate the impact on their daily commutes.
