Ricoh USA Launches Innovative Dashboard to Tackle Corporate Carbon Emissions

Ricoh USA

EXTON, PA — Ricoh USA, Inc. recently unveiled a pioneering Sustainability Services Dashboard, marking a significant development in the corporate pursuit of environmental sustainability. The platform is engineered to enable Ricoh customers to systematically measure, report, and mitigate emissions data related to Ricoh Digital Services, addressing the critical challenge of reducing emissions within the supply chain.

Corporate emissions are broadly categorized into three scopes, with Scope 3 emissions—those stemming from indirect activities such as procurement—often constituting over 80 percent of a company’s carbon footprint. This makes tackling Scope 3 emissions paramount for firms aiming to meet climate commitments and adhere to increasing regulatory standards. Ricoh’s dashboard integrates with advanced emissions measurement tools provided by Watershed, offering detailed insights across all emissions scopes based on a mix of disclosed financial and climate data.

Lauren Sallata, Ricoh North America’s Chief Marketing Officer, highlighted the dashboard’s role in enabling companies to confront the daunting task of managing Scope 3 emissions. By facilitating precise measurement and understanding, the tool sets the stage for substantive emission reductions and supports compliance with emerging regulations like the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Jessica Shalek, Head of Climate Advisory at Watershed, commended Ricoh for empowering customers with critical supply chain emissions data, aiding in the comprehensive assessment and reduction of their overall carbon footprints.

The Sustainability Services Dashboard promises several key advantages, including aiding regulatory compliance through detailed emissions reporting, providing actionable strategies for emission reduction, and offering sophisticated data visualization tools for tracking and communicating progress. This initiative by Ricoh represents a significant step forward in the collective effort to transition towards more sustainable business operations, setting a benchmark for digital transformation with an emphasis on environmental responsibility.
